Via Sophia

RT: Hello and Welcome to CorkRules!

I’m your host Robert Tas along with Thomas Delasko General Manager and Sommelier at EOS Hospitality a distinctive luxury hotel/restaurant group.

Hello Thomas, thanks for being here on CorkRules, - a podcast where we help simplify and demystify the wine lists at some of our favorite restaurants and wine bars. We talk with certified sommeliers, wine/food professionals who point out interesting bottles, classic food and wine pairings, hidden gems,  value wines, or splurge wines that will take your experience over the top.

TD: Thank you so excited to be here.

RT: Thomas, I’m super excited to be talking today about one your flagship properties. Via Sophia located in the Hamilton Hotel in Washington DC. Before we get started, please tell us a little about you?

TD: (How long you’ve worked there, in the business, fun fact, etc.)

RT:  Via Sophia is an all day osteria serving neapolitan italian fare with a cool vibe. Can you tell us a little more about Via Sophia.

TD: (Give a little history, overview of the place, vibe, etc.)

RT: Sounds fantastic, my kind of place. Let’s pivot and talk about your wine lists.

TD: (Give a list overview, how you all think about curating the list. Name a couple of producers, be specific.)

RT: Very cool. Anything on your list that’s a must try?

TD: (Name 1-2 wines that are a little nerdy, be specific).

RT: Awesome. How about something off the beaten path. Help push me palate?

TD: (Name 1-2 unique wine, be specific).

RT: Fabulous. How about if I’m celebrating something special?

TD: (Name 1-2 baller wines, be specific).

RT: Those are fabulous suggestions. Thomas it has been a pleasure to talk with you about Via Sophia and it’s fabulous wine list. I will be definetly stopping by on my next visit to DC.
